As a non-binary, immigrant queer individual of South Asian descent living in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, I deeply understand the intersections of identity, culture, and health. My journey has been shaped by non-visible chronic illnesses, adding depth to my empathetic understanding of the challenges my clients may face.
I bring diverse qualifications and experiences to my practice. With an MB BS, an MS in Public Health, and an MSc in Toxicology, my journey has been one of interdisciplinary exploration and commitment to understanding the complexities of human well-being. Having lived in various countries, including Finland and Canada, I have developed a profound appreciation for the nuances of cultural diversity and its impact on mental health. I am dedicated to fostering a safe and inclusive space for individuals from all backgrounds to explore their experiences and heal. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and cultural competency, recognizing everyone’s unique needs and experiences.
I hope to address anxiety, stress, sadness, dissociation, grief, loss, rage, self-criticism, shame, gender identity journey and trauma that may or may not result from interpersonal and systemic experiences of violence and oppression. I can utilize motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral approaches to empower individuals on their journey toward healing and growth.
